About Erie Teen Health CenterThe Erie Teen Health Center is currently the only freestanding comprehensive teen health center in the entire Chicagoland area.
Services OfferedBehavioral Health and Counseling
These services include individual therapy, group therapy, women's support groups as well as referrals for substance abuse counseling. Case Management Case Managers at Erie Teen Health Center work with pregnant women, teen moms and their children. They help monitor your physical and behavioral health needs on an ongoing basis for up to one year. The services that these case managers provide include helping you coordinate medical care with Public Aid and WIC. They also help you connect with community resources that include things like education, housing and car seat. Health and Wellness Programs Education programs are available on the following health related topics: asthma, oral health, breast cancer, diabetes, prenatal care, violence prevention, and adolescent health. Erie Teen Health Center also runs the specialized health programs below: Healthy Kids/Ninos Saludables Program- bilingual nutrition and physical education program for overweight children and their parents. La Vida Sana, La Vida Feliz Program- bilingual weight management program for women. Centering Pregnancy Program- prenatal education program for pregnant women. Illinois Breast and Cervical Cancer Program (IBCCP)- helps provide free mammograms, breast exams, pelvic exams, and pap tests to uninsured women. Teen Health Services Please remember that there are confidential services offered through the Erie Teen Health Center which specializes in teen care services. A list of what their teen health services include are below. Adolescent primary health care includes school and sports exams, vaccinations, family planning, contraceptive decision making support, low cost contraception, pregnancy testing, and STD/HIV counseling, testing and treatment. Teen prenatal care includes Centering Pregnancy program and in hospital labor and delivery. Prenatal Health Services Erie is ranked as one of the top three delivering practices at Northwestern Memorial Hospital. Prenatal Health services include prenatal exams and pregnancy care, in hospital labor and delivery, in hospital newborn care, ultrasound services, breastfeeding support, expert case managers to follow you and your baby throughout pregnancy and after the baby is born, and prenatal orientation classes. Erie also has the ability to care for high risk pregnancies if it is needed. Children's Health Services Erie is also equipped to handle all types of children's services. For a family who has younger children they could also seek treatment through the Erie Teen Health Center. These services include annual physicals, vaccinations, hearing/vision screenings, growth/development monitoring, WIC visits, TB testing, immunizations, and asthma management. Due to Erie's close relationships with Children's Memorial, and the University of Chicago they are able to provide health care to children and teens with special needs and even chronic illnesses. |
